WWP Introduces Education Program for Wounded WarriorsOfficial Opening: November 2008 Fall is a time for back to school, and a group of wounded warriors are hitting the books in Jacksonville, Florida. The sixteen warriors are the first group of students to attend TRACK, WWP's new education program for wounded warriors. The program offers individuals a chance to earn college credit while continuing their rehabilitation in MIND, BODY and SPIRIT. TRACK is housed in its own specially designed center near WWP headquarters. The facility includes a cafe, three classrooms, conference room, gym with adaptive workout equipment, lounge, consultation room, and peak performance/biofeedback training room with an "egg" chair. Daily schedules include a mix of college classes, physical training and rehabilitation, workshops, and social events. In the second semester of the program, students will enter internships in the Jacksonville business community. In addition to the on-going classes, TRACK will host a number of workshops, business open house events, and more. In August, WWP hosted the official ribbon-cutting ceremony to open TRACK. Michael Ward, CEO of CSX Transportation, and his wife, Terry, contributed a personal donation of one million dollars to launch the TRACK program. Mr. Ward joined guests at the facility to cut the ceremonial ribbon with wounded warrior Robert Loria. "This is really a first-class facility- very positive and upbeat in helping wounded warriors make their transition," Mr. Ward said. "These men and women put themselves at risk and sustain high injuries. We need to help them make the transition into the next phase of their life, and it just seemed like an absolutely perfect project- to give them the support they deserved for protecting our freedoms."
